Q. Who/What is Moveforfree.com?
A. Moveforfree.com is a free apartment locating servicing Austin, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston and San Antonio. You must have learned about your new apartment through Moveforfree.com or Moveforfree.com locating service, list(ed) Moveforfree.com as your locator when you visit(ed) the apartment community, the apartment community does work with locators and you sign a minimum of a 6-month lease Moveforfree.com will provide a free local move-some restrictions apply. You must register with Moveforfree.com. You must add properties to your unique profile "My Properties." Some properties require locators to register their clients in advance of the client visiting or calling the apartment community. You must wait for a 'registration complete' next to the apartment community in your profile before visiting these properties. Please write-in Moveforfree.com and only Moveforfree.com as your locator (not internet or a friend) on the guest card and the lease application when you visit. See our 'moving details and disclaimers' and 'what we move for free' on the website www.Moveforfree.com or call us at 210-691-3178 or toll-free 877-532-3757 if you need any assistance. Once you have been approved and pay your deposit please visit the website and click on 'Schedule My Move' to schedule your free local move.
Q. How do I qualify for the free move?
A. You must have learned about your apartment community from Moveforfree.com or gained knowledge about the apartment community from Moveforfree.com, which prompted you to visit and lease at the community (rules and restrictions apply). You must have listed Moveforfree.com, and only Moveforfree.com, as your apartment locator when you visited the apartment community on the guest card and lease application. You must read and understand "Moving Disclaimers" and "What We Move For Free".
Q. What are some of the common reasons for NOT qualifying for the free move or cash voucher?
A.
  1. Moveforfree.com and only Moveforfree.com was NOT listed on the guest card and lease application. You cannot list a friend, resident referral, another locator, drive by, etc. Also, your roommate did not list Moveforfree.com, even though you did. The staff at apartment communities complete the guest card, so make sure you see them write Moveforfree.com as your referral source.
  2. You were not registered with Moveforfree.com prior to visiting with the apartment community.
  3. You did not wait until Moveforfree.com registered you as our customer at the apartment community before you visited.
  4. You didn’t sign a 6 month or longer lease
  5. You or your roommate previously lived at the apartment community you are moving to.
  6. Sister property transfer disqualification: a sister property is an apartment community managed/owned by the same company. If 2 properties on the same street or nearby are owned/managed by ABC Management Company, you may not qualify to move from one to the other.
  7. Moveforfree.com and/or the apartment community have stopped doing business together.
  8. The apartment community’s commission falls below Moveforfree.com’s minimum commission requirement. It is the responsibility of the apartment community to notify Moveforfree.com if there commission falls below our minimum requirement; however, sometimes they forget to notify us.
Q. Is Moveforfree.com a moving company that can quote me pricing on a move if I don't need the apartment locating service?
A. Moveforfree.com, normally, moves only clients who qualify by using the locating service. However, pay move rates begin at $85/hour for a three-hour minimum. Call a moving manager toll free 877-532-3757 to inquire if openings are available (Subject to availability).
Q. What if the apartment community is not in Moveforfree.com's database?
A. Moveforfree.com will not be able to move you to properties not listed on the website unless you used our in-house locating service. You must have learned about your new apartment from the website or locating service of Moveforfree.com.
Q. If I found the apartment community on my own, visited the community and then found it on Moveforfree.com can I still move for free?
A. No, you must have learned about your new apartment through Moveforfree.com unless you gained knowledge about the apartment community from Moveforfree.com, which prompted you to visit and lease at the community (rules and restrictions apply).
Q. Can I move for free if I drove by an apartment community and did not visit, then, used Moveforfree.com to learn more about the apartment community, visited and listed Moveforfree.com as my locator?
A. Yes, as long as you gained knowledge about the apartment community from Moveforfree.com, which prompted you to visit and lease at the community (rules and restrictions apply).
Q. If Moveforfree.com has moved me in the past can I still use your services?
A. Yes, as long as you qualify, you can use Moveforfree.com services indefinitely.
Q. Does Moveforfree.com move to houses or accept pay moves?
A. Yes, however, not for free. Pay move rates begin at $85/hour for a three-hour minimum. Call a moving manager toll free 877-532-3757 to inquire if openings are available.
Q. Can Moveforfree.com move me within the same property?
A. No, this is considered an on-site transfer. You must have learned about your new apartment through Moveforfree.com. Moveforfree.com only moves clients who qualify by using the locating service.
Q. Does the free move affect the specials that an apartment community offers?
A. No, Moveforfree.com's free move offer does not affect apartment community specials like "1 Month Free", etc., nor do apartment community specials affect Moveforfree.com's services. If an apartment community suggests not to use Moveforfree.com in order to receive their specials, please call our office right away toll-free 877-532-3757 and ask to speak to a manager.

Q. How do I schedule my move once my lease application has been approved at the apartment community?
A. Visit www.Moveforfree.com, login and click on "Schedule My Move" to submit your move request. Soon after you submit your move request you will receive an automated email notification that Moveforfree.com has received it.
Q. Can Moveforfree.com move me from a storage unit (house, etc.) to my new apartment?
A. Yes, if you qualify for the free move, Moveforfree.com can move you from a storage, house, apartment, etc.
Q. What is considered a 'one man' box?
A. A 'one man' box can be handled by one person and is less than 75 pounds. It can be picked up and carried up and down the stairs to and from the moving truck by one person. (Moveforfree.com reserves the right to refuse to move items that are deemed unsafe to move)
Q. Can I substitute items on the free move offer?
A. No, normally substitutions are not allowed. However, the moving company reserves the right to make substitution decisions.
Q. What if I am moving from city to city? (See Service Area below).
A. If you qualify for the service there are three scenarios. First, if you are moving from a city Moveforfree.com services to a city Moveforfree.com services, then, you would be responsible for renting a truck (Moveforfree.com does not rent trucks) and furniture blankets. Moveforfree.com movers will load your belongings professionally in one city and Moveforfree.com movers in the next city will unload your belongings (ex, Houston to Dallas). Second, if you are moving from a city Moveforfree.com does not service to a city Moveforfree.com services, Moveforfree.com will unload your belongings at your new apartment (ex, El Paso to San Antonio). Third, if you qualify, but do not need to move, then Moveforfree.com can send you a $100 cash voucher.
Q. How much notice does Moveforfree.com need on move requests?
A. Moveforfree.com requests a 2-week notice on move requests. Moveforfree.com will not guarantee any move requests with less than 72 hours notice.
Q. When is my date and time confirmed? When do I have a guaranteed date & time?
A. Moves dates and times are finalized by a moving manager on a first come first serve basis as to when the lease confirmation is returned by your new apartment community. Moveforfree.com must have the lease confirmation verifying you properly listed Moveforfree.com, and only Moveforfree.com, on both the guest card and lease application before confirming the date and time of your move.
Q. What if I am moving into an apartment with a roommate who is moving from a different address, do we both get a free move?
A. No, there is only one free pickup location. Additional charges that apply include the extra pickup location ($25) and mileage. If you and a roommate live together now, both use our service to find separate new apartments, and then, both receive a free local move. Moveforfree.com only allows 1 move or cash voucher per apartment unit.
Q. Is there an extra charge for 3rd floor to 3rd floor moves?
A. No, as long as you qualify, Moveforfree.com will move you without charging by floor.
Q. How do I let the movers know about extra items or items not listed in 'What We Move For Free'?
A. Include specific items not listed in the online inventory in the "Additional Items" section at the end of the inventory page. A moving manager will quote pricing and add these items to your inventory.
Q. Do the movers work every day?
A. Moveforfree.com movers move Sunday through Saturday except for the following Holidays: Christmas, New Years, Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, ETC. Moveforfree.com and affiliated moving companies reserve the right to take additional holidays/days off.
Q. Does Moveforfree.com provide boxes?
A. No, however Moveforfree.com offers boxes for sale. Click here to purchase boxes. (External link. Will be opened in a new browser window).
Q. If I have extra items what forms of payment do you accept and when do I pay?
The Moving Company accepts cash only. Payment is expected at the time the unloading of your belongings begins.

Q. How long does it take Moveforfree.com to register me at propertiesrequiring registration?
A. Normally, it takes 3 to 5 working days to register a client with an apartment community.
Q. Do I have to receive a property registration email before I visit one of My Properties?
A. Usually, Yes, however, registration status can be seen anytime online at Moveforfree.com by logging in and clicking on the 'My Properties' tab and checking the 'Registration' column.

Q. When I enter my search criteria and submit how come there are no apartment communities returned?
A. Try adjusting your search criteria by raising your maximum price, limiting your amenities to 1 or 2 options, omitting minimum price square footage or not entering any criteria before submitting your search (leave 'any' in beds/baths fields and others blank).
Q. Does Moveforfree.com have duplexes, condos or town homes listed?
A. Duplexes are not listed at this time. Town homes within apartment communities appear on the apartment community's information page. Try using the search by property name in the metro area you are interested in by typing "town" or "condo" in the search by property name field and submit.

Q. How do I know where the FREE service area ends?
A. Service areas are Austin, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston and San Antonio. Service areas are usually defined by the city limits of that city. For example, the city limits of Houston is the free area, but Alvin, Galveston, Webster, etc., are outside the free area and gas surcharges or mileage fees apply. DFW is considered one free service area.
Q. Does Moveforfree.com service any other areas?
A. Moveforfree.com services only those areas active on the website. Moveforfree.com currently operates in Austin, Atlanta, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston and San Antonio. Moveforfree.com offers only the cash voucher option in the state of Georgia (the Atlanta metro area).
Q. Are the prices listed on Moveforfree.com the price we should expect to pay for the apartment?
A. The pricing changes daily in some instances and the posted pricing is not guaranteed. The apartment community will have the most up to date pricing. When there is a price discrepancy between the apartment community and Moveforfree.com; the apartment community’s pricing is valid.

Moveforfree.com reserves the right to change the conditions, policies, terms, website, etc., without notice.

Q. Why can't I schedule a move or why doesn't my apartment community's name show up in my move request?
A. You must have the apartment community added to `My Properties` and registration must be complete for that community before you can schedule a move.
